Our scientific work packages produce new ideas at the proof of concept level. These are demonstrated on cells in WP4. However, the first demonstration may not be using methods that are practical in production. Our Producibility WP is aimed at developing good ideas in a way that moves them from the research towards the exploitation arena.
An example is the development of MOCVD for CdTe. We have done experiments and calculations which have outlined the feasibility of scale-up. We have also set up a moving substrate kit to demonstrate in-line growth and processing.
