Dr Tom Markvart is Reader in Electronic Materials and Director of the Solar Energy Laboratory in the School of Engineering Sciences at University of Southampton. He has long standing research interests in the device and system aspects of photovoltaic solar energy conversion, with publications including textbook 'Solar Electricity'��and 'Practical Handbook of Photovoltaics: Fundamentals and Applications' (jointly with Luis Castaner). He participates in a number of advisory committees on photovoltaics in UK, Europe and Australia.
