Reader in Analytical Physics and Advanced Materials in the Centre for Materials Science and Engineering. Leads team on growth, characterisation and numerical modelling of thin film photovoltaic solar cells.
Experienced project leader, having held six EPSRC grants on PV materials and devices. He has worked on CIS, CdTe and ETA cell fabrication. His group specialises in thin film growth by PVD and spray methods, fabrication and modelling of thin film solar cells, combinatorial investigation of new materials for PV and precise experimental studies of materials phenomena.
Director: Cranfield's accelerator laboratory for ion beam analysis. Work Package Leader in UK SUPERGEN 'PV-21' ('High Throughput Screening of PV Materials and Devices').
Fellow of the Institute of Physics (UK). Founder member of 'PV-NET' and 'SOLARPACT'. Participant in EU thematic network on thin silicon technologies 'aSiNet' and in EU TMR programmes. Collaborates with, Pilkington, BP Solar and Cornell University.
